Lead-Acid and Sealed Lead-Acid Batteries have
remained essentially the same, a testimony of a good design difficult to improve.
They do, however, have some shortcomings.
Batteries are easily damaged by overcharging, and if you don't keep them
charged, they will deteriorate through sulfation.

CELLMATE is not a battery charger or trickle
charger which, if left unattended for long periods of time, may cause damage.
Instead, CELLMATE is a precision electronic device which "Tops Off"
your battery and maintains nearly optimum charge under a wide range of
conditions. Once the battery is topped off, the CELLMATE lamp will begin to
flash. This indicates CELLMATE is shutting off voltage to the battery and sensing safe levels of voltage. There is never a constant input of voltage to your battery, like most chargers. Precision circuitry compensates for temperature effects and equalizes the charge in the cells. |
